South-East Zonal Biotechnology Development Centre of Excellency, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, was established in the year 2004 by the National Biotechnology Development Agency (NABDA), Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, Abuja, Nigeria.

A memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the National  Biotechnology Agency and the University of Nigeria nsukka in July 23, 2008

VISION

To use biotechnology to contribute to a heathy economic development in Nigeria.

MISSION

Promote biotechnology activities that positively respond to national aspirations on food security, Job creation, affordable healthcare delivery and sustainable environment.
